CHRISTOPHER TOMASI

THE BACKSTORY

In the early 9o's l was inspired to build homes alongside a carpenter friend in Northern California. Curiosity and youth pulled me to the East Coast where I continued learning rough and finish carpentry. I enjoyed carpentry, but I found it somewhat confining. I moved on to working in a furniture and cabinet shop in New Hampshire and later North Carolina where I discovered my love for design, woodworking, and (oddly) order.

After several years of honing my skills, I opened my first woodshop in Asheville, NC with a colleague. A few years later I moved back to Italy and then to my native Germany to learn woodworking techniques and design in various wood shops. After a few years with limited sunlight, I yearned for the California and moved back to the North Bay. It’s been almost 20 years, and my shop here in San Rafael has produced thousands of feet of custom cabinetry in a variety of styles. All of which has been inspired by my love for design, and order. Looking back, it’s obvious how I chose this profession.
